Historical Award£242,277 (over 3 Years)
The Challenge
HASWA is the only Asian organisation with a dedicated community centre in Havering, having achieved total inclusiveness and integration since 1998. The community it serves had grown increasingly diverse, with older residents experiencing isolation and younger families needing vital guidance.
Long-term casework revealed women escaping domestic violence, young people facing social exclusion, and elderly people needing support to maintain independent living. The charity required sustained multi-year funding to expand its Connecting Communities Project across Havering and Barking & Dagenham.
Our Advisory Approach
This marked the second time Elisha Fiador collaborated with HASWA, having previously assisted them in securing funding for community healthy living and exercise classes in Hornchurch.
Elisha held intensive discussion days with HASWA trustees, staff, and service users. Working closely with the project development officer, they broke down the community challenges into concrete aims, measurable milestones, and clear outcome indicators. Elisha then authored the complete multi-year proposal explaining how the charity would build upon past successes and provide unmatched value to local families.
